Your Bahamas Yacht and Boat Charter Specialists

Booking Your Yacht Charter

Our team of consultants will help you to narrow down your Bahamas charter yacht choices based on your likes, dislikes, needs, activities and budget. We will also assist you in choosing an itinerary based on what you enjoy- secluded anchorages or ports with night life? Water sports or idyllic beaches, or a combination of both? Days filled with activity or tranquil relaxation- the choice is up to you. Although there are 700 islands in the Bahamas, there are itineraries based on island 'groupings' such as the Abacos, the Exuma Cays, Eluthera and the Berry Islands.

Once you have selected a Bahamas Charter motor or sailing yacht we will secure the dates for you by requesting an 'option' on the boat. Assuming the yacht is available for the dates you requested, the option will secure the dates for you for 48 hours, giving us time to prepare the paperwork.

We will send you a contract to sign that outlines costs and terms of your charter. At this point an initial deposit of 50% of the charter fee along with a copy of the contract, signed by you, will be required, unless the dates are less than 30 days in advance, in which case payment in full is required.

With your yacht and dates secure, we will work with you on all the details of your Bahamas yacht charter. This includes assisting you with making flight and travel arrangements, putting you in direct contact with the yacht's crew and sending you a preferences questionnaire. The questionnaire helps your crew to plan for your charter, including your activities preferences, food and beverage requirements, and any special needs you may have.

Lastly, the balance of your charter fee is due, usually 30 -45 days prior to your charter, or as outlined in your contract.

Understanding Charter Fees and Expenses

Sailing Charters:

Sailing Charters in the Bahamas are generally all-inclusive or captain only.

All-inclusive charters generally include the boat, crew, meals, beverages and running expenses (such as fuel) for the boat. Some all-inclusive charters include standard bar, some charge extra. In general, all-inclusive charters do not include marina fees during your charter, meals ashore, crew gratuity or tax.

Captain Only charters include the boat and captain only- usually at a reduced rate. The rate does not include food, provisioning the boat,  meal preparation, beverages, ice, fuel, marina fees or tax.

Motor Yacht Charters:

The rates quoted for Motor Yacht charters do not include the following running expenses:

Food, beverages, fuel, dockage, port taxes.

An Advance Provisioning Allowance is taken at the time of the final payment for the charter and is usually 30-35% of the charter fee. The Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) is taken up front to allow the crew to fuel and provision the yacht per your requests. The captain will provide you a full accounting of all expenses incurred for or during your charter. Any balance will be refunded. In the case that your expenses run over the APA, then you will need to take care of the balance prior to disembarkation.

Crew Gratuity:

A crew gratuity of 10-20% is recommended for a job well done by your Bahamas Yacht Charter crew. This is usually handed to the captain in cash at the end of the charter, and disbursed evenly among the crew. If you wish to make other arrangements for the crew gratuity, please let us know.
